What is Energy Healing? At the very essence of our existence we are beings of energy. Everything in us and around us is made up of energy. The term Energy Healing encompasses the profound healing process that extends to your whole being. In Traditional Chinese Medicine this is considered to be your physical, emotional and spiritual body. In my energy healing session, I work with your unique energy by clearing blocks, harmonising the flow of energy and breaking energetic ties that might be hindering you from flourishing. I channel divine loving energy into each of your energy centres known as chakras and I work with each of their connections within and around your body. I also access the Akashic Realm, the repository of all information from the Universe, to bring Divine wisdom to the healing session. Sometimes I will be assisted in the healing by spirits, which included loved ones or angels or both.

How does online healing work? Don't you have to be near the person?Remote energy healing, also known as distant healing or distance healing, is a practice where a healer or practitioner directs healing energy towards an individual who is not physically present with them. Energy can be directed and influenced by intention and focused consciousness and transcends physical barriers. It can be directed to the recipient regardless of their location. Quantum entanglement explains the science behind distance healing in that particles can be connected at a distance. The connection between me and my clients exists beyond physical proximity allowing me to transmit the energy as effectively as if we were in the same room. As a member of the healing team, it requires you to fully believe in the process. Belief, openness, and receptivity to the healing process plays a vital role in remote energy healing. Your own intention and willingness to receive healing enhances the effects of the healing session.

What is Qigong?Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese practice that combines physical movements, breath control, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body's energy. The word "Qigong" is composed of two Chinese characters: "Qi" meaning "life force" or "vital energy," and "Gong" meaning "work" or "cultivation." Together, Qigong can be translated as "cultivating life energy" or "working with life force." Qigong encompasses a wide range of exercises and techniques that aim to enhance the flow of Qi within the body, promote relaxation, improve physical health, and foster mental clarity. These practices typically involve slow, gentle movements, coordinated breathing patterns, focused intention, and mindfulness. Some forms of Qigong may also incorporate visualization, sound, and self-massage. The practice of Qigong is deeply rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts. It is believed that by harmonizing and balancing the Qi, one can optimize their physical health, emotional well-being, and spiritual development. Qigong is considered a holistic practice that addresses the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. Qigong exercises can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness levels, and they can be done individually or in groups. The benefits of regular Qigong practice may include improved flexibility, balance, stress reduction, increased vitality, enhanced immune function, and a sense of inner calm and harmony. It's important to note that while Qigong can be a complementary practice to support overall well-being, it is not a substitute for medical treatment. If you have specific health concerns, it's advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare professional.

What is Baduanjin?Baduanjin, also known as the Eight Brocades or Eight Pieces of Brocade, is a popular form of Qigong exercise in China. It is a set of eight gentle movements or postures that are designed to promote health, vitality, and the flow of Qi (life energy) within the body. The term "Baduanjin" translates to "eight pieces of silk" or "eight treasures." Each of the eight movements in Baduanjin targets specific areas of the body and corresponds to different meridians (energy pathways) in traditional Chinese medicine. The exercises are performed slowly and gracefully, accompanied by deep breathing and mental focus. The movements typically involve stretching, twisting, bending, and coordinated movements of the arms, legs, and torso. The Eight Brocades Qigong routine has a long history and is believed to have been developed over a thousand years ago. It has been passed down through generations and has become one of the most well-known and widely practiced forms of Qigong in China and around the world. Practicing Baduanjin regularly is believed to have numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Some potential benefits include improved flexibility, strength, and balance; enhanced circulation and digestion; stress reduction; increased energy levels; and a sense of relaxation and inner calm. It is also considered a form of moving meditation, helping to cultivate mindfulness and concentration. Baduanjin can be practiced by people of different ages and fitness levels, as the movements can be modified to suit individual abilities. It is often practiced in parks, community centers, or in the comfort of one's own home. Many instructional videos and resources are available online to guide individuals in learning and practicing the Eight Brocades. As with any form of exercise, it is important to listen to your body, practice within your limits, and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health conditions or concerns.

Qigong exercises are generally gentle and can be adapted to suit different fitness levels, making them accessible to a wide range of people, including those who may have limited mobility or physical endurance. Qigong is a practice that focuses on cultivating and balancing the body's energy, rather than exerting intense physical effort. The movements in Qigong are typically slow, fluid, and low-impact, and they can be adjusted to accommodate individual capabilities. In fact, Qigong is often recommended as a form of exercise for individuals who are looking for a gentle way to improve their physical well-being, flexibility, and balance. Qigong can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness levels, including seniors, individuals recovering from injuries, or those with chronic health conditions. Is qigong cardio exercise?Qigong is generally not considered a cardio exercise in the same way as activities like running, cycling, or aerobics. While Qigong involves gentle movements and controlled breathing, it typically does not elevate the heart rate to the same extent as more intense cardiovascular exercises. Qigong is often categorized as a mind-body exercise or a form of moving meditation. Its primary focus is on cultivating and balancing the body's energy (Qi), promoting relaxation, and improving overall well-being. It can be seen as a holistic practice that encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual elements. That being said, certain styles or variations of Qigong may incorporate more dynamic movements, such as faster-paced forms or those that involve gentle bouncing or shaking. These variations may have a slightly higher cardiovascular component. However, in general, the emphasis in Qigong is on slow, deliberate movements, deep breathing, and cultivating a state of calm and relaxation. While Qigong may not be a primary form of cardio exercise, it can still offer numerous benefits for physical health, such as improving flexibility, balance, and coordination. Additionally, regular practice of Qigong has been shown to have positive effects on stress reduction, mental clarity, and overall well-being. If you are specifically looking to improve cardiovascular fitness, it is often recommended to incorporate other activities or exercises into your routine, such as brisk walking, jogging, swimming, or aerobic workouts, in addition to practicing Qigong. It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or fitness expert to determine the most suitable exercise regimen for your specific goals and needs.

I have an injury. Can I do qigong?Qigong can be a beneficial practice for individuals with injuries, as it is generally gentle and low-impact. However, it's important to approach Qigong with caution and take into consideration the nature and severity of your injury. Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when practicing Qigong with an injury: Consult with a healthcare professional: Before starting or continuing any exercise routine, including Qigong, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional or a qualified instructor who can assess your specific injury and provide guidance on what movements and modifications are suitable for your condition. Listen to your body: Pay close attention to your body's signals and limitations. If a movement or posture causes pain or discomfort, modify or avoid it. It's crucial to honor your body's healing process and not push beyond your limits. Modify movements: Work with your instructor to modify the movements to accommodate your injury. They can suggest alternative postures or adjustments to ensure that you do not exacerbate the injury. For example, if you have a lower body injury, you can focus on upper body movements or seated variations. Focus on gentle and therapeutic forms: Some styles or variations of Qigong are specifically designed for healing and rehabilitation purposes. Look for Qigong practices that emphasize gentle stretching, breathwork, and relaxation. Gradual progression: Start slowly and gradually increase the duration and intensity of your practice as your injury heals and your comfort level improves. Avoid sudden or forceful movements that could strain or reinjure the affected area. Mindful breathing and visualisation: Even if you are unable to perform certain movements, you can still benefit from the breathwork and mental focus aspects of Qigong. Focus on deep, relaxed breathing and visualise the flow of healing energy throughout your body. Remember, it's essential to work closely with a healthcare professional or qualified instructor who can provide personalised guidance based on your specific injury. They can help create a modified Qigong practice that supports your healing process and minimises the risk of further injury.
